I hate how they type, but I think it’s not enough to hate them.
One of my friends said: “They (jejemons) are ruining the image of all the Filipinos!” I said: “And those anti-jejemons are ruining the pagkatao of their kapwa Pinoy.”
Tapos na ako sa stage na kinakainisan ko at kinamumuhian ang mga jejemon o ang mga kapwa kong Pilipinong hindi nakasanayan ang pagtype sa paraang kinagugustuhan ng karamihan. Sana ay kayo rin.
True. I know looking at jejemon text can be really irritating and even embarrassing for some, but this prolonged bashing and ridicule of jejemons is even more shameful. ‘Jejemon-ism’ is practically a culture. You don’t criticize ethnic groups for being who they are. You don’t bash mangakas (hardcore anime and manga-addicted, cosplaying people) outright for weeks just because they’re different from the masses.
I don’t need to fathom these jejemons’ preferences, or even like it. I know I don’t. Even I’ve had my share of laughs with friends about them. But I think it’s high time we give them what any other human being ought to give a fellow person-some respect.
